Little Brian when opening his gifts asks "Where's the cereal?" Growing up in my family we always reused boxes of all sorts for wrapping gifts. I'm just carrying on tradition.
Padmae misses Grandma Mitchell so much.

We were lucky to have some of Brian's family come and celebrate Lil B's 3rd Birthday. The boys got some Wii time in and Lil B oohed and awed over Uncle Danny's phone.

We celebrated with Lil B's favorite pizza. Thankfully Mom was there to help me decorate with balloons, streamers, and a Happy Birthday banner cuz being 8 months pregnant I couldn't be jumping up on chairs.

Lil Brian got books and pjs for his trip to Grandma's and Grandpa house. I had to laugh cuz it wasn't 3 seconds after I finished frosting the birthday cake he stuck his finger in it.

Grandma Mitchell made tacos for an early Father's day dinner. Everyone was too full for cheesecake afterwards. My next post will have more Father's Day pictures. It just takes forever to download.
It was wonderful having family here. I've been so tired that having Grandma here helping out really is a blessing.

Happy Father's Day Honey!!

Sunday

Sunday is pretty relaxing around here at the Mitchell house. After church and naps we hang around, make phone calls family, Brian plays on the computer or is found wrestling with the boys, and I'm on the laptop. It's nice having the boys close in age where they'd play together.
Exciting news this week is that Brian's parents and brother are coming to help us celebrate Lil Brian turning 3. We're gonna have a small family party. Unfortunately they are only staying 2 days. We wish they could stay longer but are grateful that they could come out when they can.

Our hot weekend part 2.

It was so hot that our AC couldn't keep up. It conked out twice but some how Brian was able to get it back up and going both times. Even with all the ceiling fans going the house still gets warm. We'll be calling the AC guy first thing in the morning. It makes us appreciate what we have.

Lil Brian giving some leaves a shower. Big Brian had a good time spraying down the boys.

A very hot weekend.

According to the news this was going to be the hottest weekend of the year. Saturday morning Brian and I worked on the garage. The boys went with me to the recycle bins to make a drop off and we picked up some Dairy Queen for lunch. We were entertained as we watched Lucas try and eat melting icecream. He found it to be a very messy experience. After lunch it was naps and then as it started to cool off a teensy bit we took the boys out to play in the sprinkler.

Earlier this month I turned the big Three One. I felt so loved. Brian had to work that day but we celebrated before he left by trying out a new sandwich place. Brian thought it was meh, okay. Afterwards we went to go pick up an Ipod for me which I'm still learning how to use. I figured out that I wanted one when my CD selection was pretty old and I wanted some good walking music post baby. I could say walking music now but I'm worn out just getting the boys ready for the day. My Mother in Law sent some pretty flowers and some nice phone calls and text messages. It was a good day.

Beach Trip 2010

Saturday we hung out with this fun family at Port St. Joe State Park. It's an island where the sand is cool to the touch and the waves are perfect for jumping in. As you can see Little B already helped himself to Ammon's trucks. We were welcomed by rain drops and wind. There were covered picnic areas so we set up hoagie sandwiches and chips and dip plus grapes for lunch. By the time we finished eating the wind had blown the rain clouds away and we headed over the small bridge to the water. Thankfully the water was conveniently located nearby and not a hike away. The sand was nice and cool which was important to me cuz I had 4 little feet to think about.
It was so sweet of Ammon to share his toys. My boys could have done this all day.

Both of my boys are not fans of the waves. They love taking baths at home but Dad is here warming Lucas up to the water. Eventually Lucas overcame his fears and got to where he was comfortable standing by himself but it wasn't long before he was up playing with trucks in the sand.

The winds were perfect for kite flying. Not so much for badmitten.

A very sandy Lucas mastered the skill of kite flying.

My poor husband. Even with sunblock on he came in with a white and brown farmers tan and left with a pink and brown one. After chasing down run away kites and digging holes his muscles were a bit sore when we got home. I'm know that he still had a good time.

I'm grateful to have been able to spend the day with good friends and family. I was worried about the oil spill and this being the last time we'll be able to enjoy the water. (another reason why I took a gazillon pictures) I called to find out the condition the day before and the oil was reported in Pensacola located 4 hrs away. I know that they are doing everything in their power to fix the problem. It's heartbreaking to see the damage that's been done. We'll keep praying for our Gulf Coast.
