Mitchell Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Family photos - Family website

cravings

Cravings so far...
Steak, and then a few days later was Apple pie ala mode.
I had a late night craving for the apple pie with ice cream. My wonderful husband tore himself away from his World of Warcraft game and went out for me. :) He came back and said that they only had the frozen kind which took 45 minutes to bake. I was thankful that he went out but not a happy camper cuz I had to wait.

Huh? What did you say Lil B?

Huh? What was that you said Lil Brian?

Your going to be a BIG BROTHER?!!! Oh how exciting!!
Yup, The newest arrival in the Mitchell family is estimated to be here October 8th. We are thrilled. We hope that this one will be a duplicate of Little B. He/she will come fast during labor and be sweet and easy going. I don't know if we can get that lucky twice.
How I broke the news to Dad? On Valentines Day I thought hmmm wouldn't it be funny if I was pregnant. I had a pregnancy test from the Dollar store stashed away in the bathroom. Meanwhile Brian was at work and so I had to think fast of how to break it to him. Later that day we were hanging out and Brian knows when I have something to tell him. So I said "Happy Valentines Day. Brian is going to be a big brother!!"
How we broke the news to the family?
I mailed home Easter package with Easter candy and homemade granola. Yummm. I stuck a few honey buns in with a note that read "I have a bun in the oven". I wrote a note with more details in one of the Easter eggs. I'm sure that they knew something was up cuz I kept telling them to call when they got the package cuz I need to explain the contents. By the time they called I already had an idea of when the baby due date was going to be cuz of the ultrasound.
Have I already had an emotional breakdown? Yes, Only once but it was a major one. I was watching the Movie Dan in Real Life and it wasn't even the sad part. Brian just laughed at me.
Nausea? It wasn't all that bad this time around. Thankfully.(where's the wood to knock on?) I only had a little bit but it was the all day miserable kind. Luckily Lil Brian loves to cuddle so he would cuddle up with Mom on the couch and wait for it to pass. I've just been really tired so I sleep whenever B sleeps. I never knew how strongly baby food smelled. For awhile there the smell would gross me out. We are all good now. It looks like smooth sailing for rest of the pregnancy. (I hope)
Excited? Most Definitely. From what I hear of other Moms they say it's really hard at first but they would never have had it any other way. I can't wait to see if I'll be shopping for girl dresses or have to start my own football team. Either way we'll be thrilled no matter the outcome may be. We find out in May if it's pink or blue. April will go drag by so slow.

He loves his Daddy

I'm okay with Lil B's first words being Da Da. It's so fun watching them together. Brian is one proud Pa-Pa.

Climbing trees at 9 months?

Well, kinda not really. We have these 2 beautiful pear shaped trees in our front yard. I wanted to show how pretty they are in the Spring with the small white flowers. I think I waited to long cuz it's been perfect kite weather and really windy. So all the pretty white flowers are laying across our driveway.
I also wanted to show the "My First Easter" outfit Grandma M picked out but it took forever to cuz it's a magnet for baby food spills. Shortly after this was taken sweet potatoes ended up on the front. O well.

Putting him up the tree was Dad's idea. Little B loved it. The last picture of him (not smiling) is when we brought him down.
This only gave me a glimpse of what's in the future. If he's anything like his Dad he's going to be a climber. Thankfully we are within walking distance to a Hospital.

Chowin down

Brian introduced mac n cheese and chopped up chicken patty to Little Brian. I was gone at the time but it looked like he loved it. He's growing so fast.

Grandma A's Easter Package Part 2

Grandma A did an excellent job at picking stuff out for Little B. In the package was.......
-3 footie sleepers (only 2 pictured cuz the 3rd was worn the night before)
- a navy long sleeve onesie
-pkg of socks
-The Tale of Peter Rabbit cardboard book
-Plaid short sleeve shirt that could match with the khaki pants from his Easter outfit
-Easter outfit for church

She got something for everybody.
For me .... please note. I am the hardest person to clothes shop for. Mom made it known the she played it very safe.
-2 tops that could go both casual or dressy
-magnetic notepad and post it notes
Brian got a tie which is great cuz his tie collection needed help. I figured that if he has enough of the nice ones then he wouldn't miss the Looney Toones ones.

So what's Brian doing while I am taking package pictures? He's right there cuddling up next to me. Which I'll have to post about in the future. He is the sweetest baby boy. We cuddle on the couch all the time and I'm cherishing every moment of it because that might not be the case when he gets older.

He's lovin his books.

Thank You Grandma & Grandpa Anderson!!!!

Fun Mail from Grandma Anderson!! Part 1

I wish that they wouldn't be sideways like that. o well. Friday we received a fun Easter package packed full of goodies from Grandma Anderson. Brian had a good time taking the items out and discovering the tags on the clothes. Brian went right the to Peter Rabbit cardboard book and wanted me to read it. I'm glad that he's picking up a love for books. The last picture is of him checking out his new pajamas. Size 12 months. They fit perfectly. Fun mail makes me feel a little closer to home. It's not the items themselves but the thought process behind it. Mom wrote a very thoughtful note in the card about Easter and remembering the Savior. She put a lot of time and energy into the package for which I am very grateful.

He's on the move

I feel like I'm behind in posting cuz Brian II is growing up so fast. It's hard to keep up with. This should be an Easter post but bear with me and I'll get there. Happy Easter by the way!!
He's figured out how to crawl forward and he's going full speed. It's hard to get him to stay in one spot long enough to take a picture.

The last two crack me up cuz he was running over me. He's such a cutie.

The Mitchell/Costello Family

The Mitchell/Costello Family Christmas 2007
I strongly recommend her to anyone. I'm very pleased with her work.
She is patient and has a great eye for photography.

Ladies... He's available

Little B's Uncle Danny. What can I say except whatta a guy. He's great. He loves his Nephew to no end. Usually I'll find them spread out on the couch together and Little Brian is curled up in his arms.

Pictures that have come to the surface.

With Hila's help I was able to find these pictures taken at Christmas by my incredible Aunt MaryJane. She did an awesome job catching those sweet moments. I picked a few that I love. I look at these pictures and am amazed on how much Brian II has grown. He was 6 months old when these were taken and now we are celebrating him at 9 months. (those pictures will be posted soon).
These are of my Sister in Law and her Husband whom I love and miss terribly. I really couldn't have asked for a better Sis and Bro in Law.
I will post the photographers link as soon as I can get my hands on it. These pictures are unedited. She's offered to edit them but I couldn't wait to post them so I could show how wonderful they turned out. Thank you Aunt Curly!!

My new favorites

My 2 new favorites all thanks to Hila and Stacy. At top we have chocolate oreo truffles. They were made green for St. Patty's day but with a little food coloring you can change the color for any occasion. Hila said they didn't come out right but I think that they were extremely good. The cheat on your diet kinda good. Good thing I'm not dieting.

Next we have a marinated chicken salad. Ohhh so good. I ate mine with Ranch dressing but you could use any dressing to your liking. Stacy says it's really easy to make and now if I can just get the recipe. From what I remember we have red grapes, tomatoes, chicken, etc. etc. Good stuff.

The perfect St. Patty's Day

Usually St. Patrick's Day comes and goes but this year was different. It was actually quite fun. My good friend Hila came down on her Spring Break to have her last Hoo-rah before she graduates and moves to Washington. She will surely be missed. To celebrate her being here we had a Potluck party. It was all very delicious. Kristy made a picture perfect fruit and dip tray. Kira brought green grapes and green beans with bacon. Yumm. I provided the lasagna rolls and drinks. One of my favorite foods of the night would have to have been Stacy's marinated chicken salad. It was soo good and maybe if I'm lucky she'll post the recipe on her blog. It was a green salad with chunks of marinated chicken, red grapes, craisins, tomatoes, almond slices and maybe cheese. I could have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For dessert Hila made green oreo truffles (another favorite of mine) and Stacy made chocolate mint brownies from scratch. Both desserts were Divine. I had spinach dip ready for after dinner munchies but dinner was oh so filling and oh so good.
The girls were good sports for playing a matching Irish word game. They did really well and it was all really close. Kira won by getting 6 Irish words correct. Good Job Kira!!.
Little Brian was going to be hanging out with Dad but Lil B wouldn't have it so he joined us after dinner. He had a good time visiting with the ladies. The whole evening was all very nice.

The Prince and the Princess live Happily Ever After

Thank You Auntie Lara for the Weebles castle!!! Thanks Grandma Mitchell for mailing it out to us!!!

He found an egg!!

Brian's 1st Easter egg hunt. I think that he did surprisingly well since it all taking place during his AM nap. He's checking out the mini bag of Skittles which eventually became Moms. It was a bit windy but thankfully the weather cooperated.

Look at these puppies

Okay so it's more like this puppy cuz you can't see the bottom tooth. Pardon the wet shirt look. He just finished drinking water from a cup. Several attempts were taken trying to catch both teeth but this was the best one.
I went back to post this 2nd one. (the one that had both eyes closed) I don't think that that's a bottom tooth (it's drool) but he was just so cute. He was having a good time with the camera. Darn flash gets him every time.
As of right now he has a top and a bottom. He likes to grind them together. It makes Mom cringe.
