Some grow fruits and veggies, others grow flowers, I grow weeds. :(

I'm kicking myself for not doing a before/after picture.

Today seemed like a somewhat productive day. The weather was perfect, Brian woke up earlier than normal, and Lil B was sleeping for the next few hours so I knew that I had no excuse not to get out there and do some yard work. The over growth and the weeds have been haunting me for awhile now. I would hang my head in shame every time I would pull in and out of the driveway. It was so embarrassing. Last time I said something about trimming the bush Brian teased and replied "I'm gonna hire someone to come out and trim it to look like an elephant or something" I thought to myself that would look so nice right next to my yard full of weeds. Well today was the day.

Brian mowed and trimmed hedges. I attacked weeds. I hope that I made some sort of improvement. Poor Brian. His allergies almost did him in. I haven't done this much work in a long time so I'll probably feel it tomorrow.

We discovered that we have raspberries or black berries growing inside a the bush next to the street. The fruity bush has thorny branches and I would get pricked constantly even with my gloves on. We rewarded ourselves by having pizza for dinner. There are no elephant statues in our front yard and I can hold my head higher when getting the mail. As for now the backyard will have to wait till another day.

My Husband the spider killer

My Husband is my hero. I am so grateful for him and the fact that he doesn't become paralyzed when there is a spider around like I do. It happened today when I was coming out of the shower and there was a huge black hairy spider on the wall. Ugh, yuck, blech Gross. He usually catches it in a tin and throws them outside. This time Brian used the fly swatter that I've been using on mosquitoes. ( every time the dogs come in and out it's like 2 more mosquitoes find their way in but that's another post) I made sure that B flushed the intruder down the toilet cuz they've been known to play dead. Sneaky little buggers.

Brian and I are big on the Discovery Channel. We watch Dirty jobs, Planet Earth, How it's made, But now they have a new show that creeps me out. It's a show where they have exterminators come out and spray for infestations of spiders, rats, cockroaches, everything creepy crawly. I thought I'd watch a few minutes of it but oh no. It was disgusting. Who'd watch this? What were they thinking? It made Deal or No Deal look pretty good but it didn't last long cuz I fell asleep. I'm curious as to how long this show will last.

Spring Farm Day continued

Dad pushing B in the swing. B loved it.

Cold Stuff!! The icecream was cold on his gums but B kept going back for more.

Fishing anyone?

The Lewis's have a nice pond behind their home. The fish that were caught were bass and Brim. The fish that B is touching is a Brim that Sister Fay Ellison caught. It was an active one flopping around. They were caught and released back into the pond.

Spring Farm Day

On Saturday we went to our Church activity. It was Spring Farm Day at the the Lewis's Dairy Farm. We had a fun time. We watched them fish, visited with friends, Lil B swung on the swing, saw the animals, and B had his 1st ice cream cone. It was from 4:00 to 7 so the weather was nice and cool.

Pictured are some baby goats, exotic turkeys (boy were they loud) and the two calves. Brian was kissed by a 3 day old calf.

just for fun.

Random pictures. Lil B just went down for his AM nap so that means I can go get cleaned up or go take a short snooze.

Piggy Banks

Look carefully. I saw this when Little Brian was crawling around. My first thought was huh? Is my kid a piggy bank??

Then I remembered he was playing with his toy piggy bank earlier. Silly Boy. He loves it. It counts coins as you insert them. It plays music. It was a Christmas present from Grandma A. This is the one that we exchanged cuz the origional one was in Spanish. Thanks Grandma A for picking a winner.

He has it all figured out.

16 week check up

Today was our 16 week check up. The appointment went well. Brian II always charms the nurses. The only downside of the appointment was when we were checking dates for future appointments. It turns out the 20 anatomical ultra sound (when I found out if it's a boy or girl) actually falls on a date when I'm only 18 or 19 weeks along. They wanna make sure that everything is there (spine, organs, etc) and they would rather do it later than earlier than 20 weeks. So in the end I won't be able to find out pink or blue until after I come back from my trip. I will still meet with the Dr before I leave just the ultrasound will be when I'm around 24 weeks along.

As we were listening to the heart beat the Dr was digging in really hard on my stomach. I guess the baby didn't like it either cuz he/she kicked the machine. Dr wouldn't tell me his guess on a boy or girl. He says that he doesn't believe in the heart rate gender predictor. I'm okay with that cuz our last Dr. kept saying Little Brian was going to a girl.

Stake Conference

It was Stake Conference weekend. I really didn't feel like dressing up Saturday night. I even called my parents to have them verify if it was a must to dress up when I wasn't going to be in the chapel. I ended up going casual with a black skirt and flipflops to the Saturday session.

Summer is coming and I know that it's only going to get worse as I get/feel bigger. The stockings don't feel the least bit appetizing. I did dress more appropriate in church attire as we made it to the packed Sunday session of Stake Conference. Stake Conference was really good and seemed like all the topics were written for me. The speakers spoke on over coming adversities and missionary work. Talks on overcoming adversities always makes me nervous. It's like the Lord is preparing me for the worst. I don't know if this is an adversity but lately it seems like I've been in a slump. I don't know if it's homesickness. I don't know if its the moodieness from the pregnancy or what. But I've just wanted to be closer to home. I've been thinking about my family life in Al or moving closer to home in Cali. Don't get me wrong Alabama has been good to us but I know that I tend to get home sick and miss the fam. Listening to the talks from Conference were comforting and the closing song from last night was Count Your many Blessings. I've been truly blessed with a wonderful family, health, and a happy home. The Misson President and his wife spoke. The talks on Missionary work reminded me why I'm here and that I need to come out of my little bubble and open my mouth about the Gospel. The hymns sung today were I believe in Christ and The Spirit of God. I left with my heart full and my spirit fed. Oh and Little Brian did a superb job sitting still for the whole 2 hours.

10 Months of sheer cuteness

Here's my Little Man at 10 months. I'm still trying to get over the fact that he's 10 months already. I love his cheesy smiles. I'm pretty sure that he got the cheese from me. I'll post proof later. He gibber gabbers up a storm with Da Da, BawBaw, MaMa. It never gets old. He's not walking yet but he certainly gets around.

Dothan Botanical Gardens Part 2

These were the pictures at the Botanical gardens that wouldn't rotate. I thought that the windmill was cool cuz it was actually working. I'm pretty sure that B has my smile. I'll have to go find out for sure though.

We'll meet at your swing or mine?

It was love at first swing.
Normandy Bell and her big blue eyes.
Brian is such a thrill seeker.

Beautiful day at Landmark Park

It was our first time at Landmark Park with the girls. Walking across the balance beam is my good friend Ashley. She's carrying her daughter Normandy who is 5 days older than Brian. Normandy and B are very good friends. The girls gathered in the back of the wagon with Brian for a quick picture. Ziporah, Riley, and Shiloh had a great time on the tire swing and going across the zipline.
Little Brian and I had fun going across bridges and down slides.
Normandy is brave just like her Mom. All of a sudden she was climbing at 10 months. Brian is not quite there yet which is fine cuz I can wait. Ashley says that her older daughter was also a climber at an early age. B and I always have fun with these girls. The weather was perfect. It was fun to get outside before it gets to hot.

A few more reasons why I can't wait till May.

I'll get to see these special people in 1 month from yesterday.
These pictures were recently taken at Velane's wedding. She's pictured in the middle. Velane is such a cool lady. She works with my Mother in Law and is so fun to be with. I heard the wedding was amazing and she looked beautiful. We would like to wish her and her new hubby Stephen all the best.

Lara's hubby Jim was in Vegas at the time so he missed out on the dancing and festivities.

Aren't my In-laws adorable? I miss'em so much.
Then there's my lovely SiL Lara. She's gorgeous and like only 13 months younger than B. Shortly before I come back to Alabama we are having a combined family Birthday party. Lara shares the same B-day month as Little B and I so that's just another reason why I love her.

California in May

Huntington Library Gardens->

Big Bear CA ->

Brian and I have been lucky when it comes to our extended family living so close to each other. It's only been like a 20 minute between the two families. With Brian's parents moving to Texas and my parents moving to Utah we'll actually have to juggle Holiday visits. It's a relief to know that there are a few things that are going to be happening first before the big change. For example. Gran and Gramp Mitchell need to retire first (they are countin down the days) and Gran and Gramp Anderson needs to finish their mission. Knowing that change is coming seems to make this next trip to California all the more special. I don't want to waste a minute of it. I heard that there's a trip to Big Bear in the works with Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell. Soo excited. Jennette, B, and I will be going back to Huntington Library to see the new brand new Chinese garden. It'll be gorgeous. Unfortunately Brian won't be able to make it out there but we'll take a ton of pictures and talk to him everyday. It'll be 3 weeks of celebrating graduation, retirement, Birthdays, and being together. I can't wait.

A shout out to Jennette

I wanted to give some love to my sister Jennette.
I can't tell her enough how proud of her I am. She's been thru alot. Sleepless nights, many projects, countless tests. She never sacrificed her church callings.

In 2003 she graduated from Weber State with higher than a 4.0. She enjoyed playing clarinet in the band. I was grateful that I had the opportunity to attend her concerts. I was her biggest fan.

After Weber State she then moved back to be a little closer to home. She's attending USC!
Her time at USC is quickly coming to a close. She's been studying to become a phyisicans assistant. She has several options of where she can work. I know that the Lord will guide her to where she is supposed to be next. I'll be there for her every step of the way. So Jennette--Congratulations!!! Lil B and I can't wait to there on your special day. Your almost done. Only a couple more weeks left. See you in May. * Lil B and his USC outfit pic coming soon.
