So far so good....

Tonight Little Brian moved out of the crib to his new big boy bed. Monday we'll go shopping for sheets. He is allowed to have his binky at naptimes and for bed. I couldn't believe he did so well. I imagined going in and constantly putting him back to bed. That hasn't been the case at all. He laid down, we covered him with blankets and left. Not a peep. A few hours later we went in to check on him and this is what we found. I'm so ecstatic. We'll start Lucas in the crib tomorrow night. I know that this will effect nap times because Lil Brian doesn't always want a morning nap. The afternoon naps are pretty good. I'm still nervous about Lil B and Lucas sharing a room. I imagine that they'll wake each other up but I won't know until I try. They need to get used to sharing a room. It'll be good. My Boys are growing up. -sigh

Park outing with our new Double Stroller.

Today we spent a few hours at the park with some friends. Brian loves the park. I would stay with Lucas while Ashley helped him go up and down the steps and slides. Ashley brought some snacks and I brought rice krispie treats.
He loved walking and making the dry leaves crunch under his feet.

It was a fun group.

I was able to try out my new double stroller that my Sister in Law Lara and Cousin Steph gave me. I abosolutely love it. The top picture was when Lil B didn't want to walk anymore so he had a seat next to Normandy. He was ready for a nap. The sun would peak out from the clouds so the visor was a nice feature to have for Lucas. When Lil B wasnt riding in it it was a great diaper bag, sweatshirt, drink holder. It's a life saver. Thanks Lara and Steph!!!

I'm so ready to go to bed but this lil guy is wide awake. My goal is to tire him out. He kicked his legs and played with the blue and pink monkey. My plan just might work.
Brian ran into some old friends working on 1st shift. It's always fun to run into familiar faces. One of them even asked him when their gonna go play paintball. They say that they put in a lot of overtime. I'm okay with it cuz I know he'll still be home in time for dinner. The boys are doing great. We spent a few hours outside in this amazing weather. I just hope it lasts awhile.

Rice Cereal

Success! At first all he seemed to do was stuff his cheeks. It only took a few moments for him to catch on. Brian said that the Mitchell men never seemed to have a problem when it came to starting solids. Lucas couldn't pass up sucking on the fingers. He did great.

Momma gotta new toy

Mom got a new toy. We needed something reliable for those family vacation trips to California, Texas, Utah, Nauvoo, Atlanta, Panama City and Destin, Florida.
It's a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L. It has only 23,000 miles on it and has a really good warranty. After bringing it home I dropped off the boys and went to Sams Club for the usual shopping items. It was a dream.
Brian doesn't like minivans but said he really liked this one. Brian will be taking the Mazda to work. He thought that the fact that the back passenger windows went down was cool
The leather seats and power sliding doors are nice. We didn't get the DVD player or the GPS cuz we already have those. I love how spacious it is and that it seats 8 comfortably. I don't get the airplane feel like I do when driving my parents Dodge Caravan. I'm off to go read the manual.
Oh and....
other good news is that Brian is now working 1st Shift instead of 3rd. He'll actually get to be on a normal sleeping schedule. woo hoo.

For Christmas Lucas was given a toy that were animal boxes and you stack inside each other. Lil B is such a goof ball and uses the biggest stacker toy (the elephant) one as a hat. The one with his eyes closed is after he's been chased and cornered for a picture. I wish that you could've heard his uncontrollable laughter. He's so silly.
The one of Lucas on his play mat is cuz he started out the day in long sleeve long pants but switched to shorts and a short sleeve shirt once we found out how incredibly warm it was outside. Crazy Alabama weather.

The picture of both the boys was one I thought was really cute. Lil Brian would go and plop himself down next to Lucas and just chat with him. Lucas would watch him all the time. His gaze would follow B from one side of the room to the other.
Brothers have that special bond. I'm lovin it.

Happy Late Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day was really nice. It started off with Brian making pink pancakes for breakfast. He didn't know that I made pancakes for dinner the night before while he was out refereeing paintball. Mine weren't pink so it was all good.
The boys got fun Valentines in the mail from Family. Brian got a card, a box of Star Wars candies, and Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. Brian gave me 18 beautiful red roses. It was all very sweet. We stayed in to avoid the crowded restaurants, ate a easy and yummy crockpot chicken dish, drank our sparkling apple cider by candle light, and watched a football movie. The movie The Express was worth watching. It was very touching movie about the 1st African American to win the Heisman Trophy. For dessert I tried to make Chocolate fondue but didn't quite turn out. It was more like smores cuz it was melted chocolate and marshmallows. It was still good and hit the sweet spot. I'm grateful that Brian is my forever Valentine. He is so good to me and our boys. It's really nice having him home for an extra night thanks to the Holiday.

Lucas is 4 months and weighs in at 17 1/2 pounds.
Brian bought Lil B a sword on our family trip to Walmart . After the sword being chewed on something tells me it's not going to last very long.
The reason why Lil B is shirtless is cuz I was too lazy to find a bib for dinner. This boy is always on the run.

Valentine Fun Mail

The boys had a great time getting some valentines from Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell in the mail. Lil B carried the candy hearts from Grandpa everywhere. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell for thinking of us.

A First

Brian asked me if I rolled Lucas on his side. I was like "no I didn't touch him"
It was neat to watch and try and guess what he was thinking.

Oh Wait a minute ..

What the... What's going on?

oops I gotta a little too close

Ladies and Gentlemen....Lucas rolled over for the FIRST Time!!

Valentines Party

Ashley invited us over for a Valentines Day party. We made chocolate candies and home made valentines.

Little Brian enjoyed playing with the musical instruments and outside in the backyard. Lucas enjoyed all the attention from the girls. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Cute little Issac went from a full cast to only a half cast today. He's such a trooper.

The picture was taken before Sara and her kids got there. Ashley is able to have a large group at her house.

Brian is working on trying to get Lucas to take a Binky. Lucas will use it for a minute or two then switch it for his thumb or fingers. Brian is pretty determined so we'll see what happens. .
My latest project is making an I spy blanket for the boys. A friend of mine graciously gave me 27 different kinds of fabrics from her stash to help get me started. I hope that it turns out how I imagined. I'll post pics when I'm done.
