Baby curls are gone. ....sniff

Little Brian's First Hair Cut

The curls in the back were getting pretty out of control. I'm wondering if they'll come back.

The Before....

Sara cut her little guys' hair all the time.
We get there and Little B makes himself right at home. He's in the girls room playing with their Little Tikes camera. We'll have to add it to his Birthday wish list.

Jennika taking Lil B's picture.

It's a great distraction.

Thanks Sara for sharing your mad skills.

The After....

the back..

The front...
I tried to get a picture with his eyes open but he was gone in a flash. Silly Mom. Too busy and gotta see what Jennika and Harmony are doing.

He's my little Man.

Just like his Momma

I didn't find these until I pulled up the Strawberry jam pictures. There are a ton more pictures but this is all you get to see cuz I don't want to show my messy house. Besides my camera Lil B finds a lot more stuff now that he learned to climb. He uses the dresser drawers as steps and makes his way up. His other favorite pastime is emptying drawers and cupboards. He is not satisfied until all the contents are pulled out and in a pile.

mmmm strawberry goodness

Success!
I waited till the boys were in bed cuz it seems like whatever I do comes out messy.
I used a hand wand that we use to make shakes to mash the strawberries. I recommend a deep bowl cuz with the hand wand it does splatter. Or you can go the smart route and use a blender. This is only half of the finished product. I'm sure I would have had plenty more but a good portion of strawberries were devoured before ever seeing the masher.
It totally makes me want to grow a garden. Anyone up for jammin or cannin- Let me know.

My Boys

Thanks to Kristy and her fabulous photo skills I'm able to have some nice pictures of the boys. She did such a great job and I'm forever grateful. Thanks again Kristy!!

My 6 month old is wearing size 12 month clothes.
Unbelievable.

Brian must've had a good time dumping 2 large plastic bins full of boys clothes out. The bins were out cuz we've had some chilly weather and it had all the long sleeve stuff. I could tell he tried to put some back but it was in the wrong bin. I matched the size clothes with their bins and then realized I needed to take out the summer stuff for Lucas. The pictures from Kristy was a true highlight of my day.

My little Computer buddy.

*the scratch on his forhead is from letting his fingernails get to long but they are trimmed down now.
** It looks like he's sitting by himself but what you can't see is Daddy hiding behind and holding him. He's a smart little guy and grabs hold of the desk with his hand.

Where's Grandma Mitchell when I need her?

Grandma Mitchell is not only famous for her tacos but also for her strawberries. She dehydrates them and sends them to us in packages. We are still enjoying them from our last Easter package. Our friend Sara told us of a strawberry field. She took her girls to pick and they made the fresh homemade jam to go with the rolls for Easter dinner. I've never made jam before but I'm always for trying something new. Strawberries are my ultimate fav. I came home and googled recipes. I came across a website where it talked about the different festivals of fruit across the US. The closest strawberry festival is 3 hours away. But I did forget to check for the states of Florida and Georgia since they are not to far away.
It was a cool website. I'll find it again and post it. My in laws go to several festivals. I know they go to a Garlic one and they have a Cowboy Festival coming up. Who doesn't like a festival?. Yummy food sampling and crafts. whoops. I got off topic.

Brian had bad allergies today so he stayed in the car with Lucas. Lil B and I had a ball picking strawberries. My camera battery died so I didn't get a picture of our red hands. It's true what they said about Sam's strawberries taste like cardboard compared to these. After awhile the bucket got to heavy for Little B to carry. He didn't want to stop picking so he'd pick and throw it. I quickly hurried to finish and left. I'm now off to walmart to get some jars.

2nd Part of our day in Florida.

The day started off with Brian letting me sleep in. awe Heaven. He got the boys dressed and fed. The first part of our trip was to the Pier Park in Panama City. It's an outdoor mall with restaurants. We went to Margaritaville for lunch. Brian grew up with the singer Jimmy Buffet so he knew more of the songs where I grew up with the Beach Boys.

Lucas tried his 1st french fry. He had a great time checking out the menu.

The really tall lady on stilts came over to make Brian a dog er giraffe.

Lucas had his 1st pickle and Lil B had his Cheeseburger in Paradise Jimmy Buffet style. Grandpa Mitchell would be so proud.
There was so much to look at that Lil B was a bit distracted when eating. They had the disco ball drop down out of the plane wit the salt shaker while the Margaritaville song played. Lil B cried at first but then he realized things were alright.

After eating we walked around and saw some of the stores. Then we went across the street to the beach. It was sooo fun. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain which is fine by me cuz I've had my family day in the sun.

I wish that there were more days like these

The day was so fun. We packed up the boys and headed to Florida. I couldn't squeeze it all in one post so there is two of them. This is the beach post.

We introduced Lucas to the beach. The water was a bit chilly but still nice to dip our feet in. Lil Brian didn't want to have anything to do with the water. He loved the sand - digging, throwing, etc

We attempted to have both boys Dr's appointments at the same time. My favorite part is the weighing in part. It went pretty well. Brian came right from work so he met us there. Lil Brian didn't like the idea of Lucas getting all the attention. He tore up his share of the white paper on the examining table. It was good to go and get it done. So here we go...

Lucas at 6 months 19 lbs 14 oz 27 and 1/4 inches

Lil Brian at 22 months 29 lbs 35 and 1/2 inches

My boys are growing so fast.

Boys for Sale

I think the boys are trying to tell us something.

Brian took these pictures. I'm so glad he takes pictures so I don't miss out on moments like these. Big Brian says "No Returns" tee hee. Grandma Mitchell was very quick to comment. I came back to add that..

No we couldn't sell them. Maybe later to the looney bin when they become teenagers. As of right now they are too sweet. Definetly priceless. Lil B would get so excited that he'd run in place. He has a matchbox car in one hand and a Thomas the Train in the other he just goes and goes. Never a dull moment.

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a very Happy Easter. I know we did. It had an interesting start. I was trying to set the alarm clock the night before and some how set the time an hour a head. I didn't notice until we were walking out the door to leave and I glanced over at the clock on the stove. Poor Brian had to unload the kids. Lil B was not happy but I didn't want to be at church an hour early. He was much happier when I showed him his wind up chick from his Easter basket. I easily found something to use up my time. I threw together a snack mix that consisted of chex cereal, MnM's, pretzel sticks, and cheerios, covered in white chocolate. Then I worked on my paper cutter. In Primary was my turn to conduct in opening exercises and so I had the wonderful opportunity to testify of a loving Savior and the Resurrection. Church went well. Little Brian started to get cranky so Big Brian took him out during the last half of sacrament meeting.

I love his expression as he watches the chick go across the table.
He figured out how to wind it up by himself.

Later on the Murray family came over for dinner. Brian did a ham and homemade vanilla icecream to go with the Apple crisp for dessert.

I did a super easy hashbrown casserole in the crock pot. The Murrays brought a mandarin orange salad, yummy rolls, and the movie Pinocchio to watch.

I thought it'd be fun to do a spring craft so I pulled out the Cricut paper cutter and showed the little girls how it cut flowers. They each did their own page. They had a good time. It was fun to visit with such awesome friends. Their little ones are growing up so fast. They have 3 kids and another one on the way. Due in October.!! I'm totally ecstatic for them. I'm wondering if it'll be another boy to even things up or will the girls over take the boys. I just can't wait to see.

Little B is very comfortable snuggled in with the Murray clan.
