Socks, Cali pictures, and bubble wrap

With Grandma it's Ask and You shall Receive.. I asked for pictures to be taken while the boys were in Cali. I got my pictures and then some. They were divided up by the day with subtitles of what was going on in the picture. It was great. They came in a fun package from Grandma Mitchell. She sent me socks, pictures, Baby's 1st and 2nd year calendars, and a bunch of other goodies. She even sent cleaning supplies that can not be found in Alabama but works miracles. It's called Soil Love (stain remover) and Awesome (a degreaser). They were so heavy so I'm sure that it made the price of shipping go up. I really appreciated her generosity.
Little Brian was getting a lesson in bubble wrap from his Dad. It looks like Dad is trying to wrap him up and ship him off to Grandmas. While they were in Cali the Grandma's supplied Little Brian with PJ's. I had to post as proof that LB fit size 18 months. I'll have to scan some pictures of them in Cali cuz they shot some great ones. Thanks for the package Grandma Mitchell

Getting some fresh air

Today Little Brian and I decided to get some fresh air after another rainstorm this afternoon. He has a good time playing with his shadow. I wish that we had sidewalks. He wasn't to happy with me cuz I wouldn't let him play in the stream in the gutter. O well Mom is a meanie.

Saturday morning with my little Man

Little Brian is back on Alabama time with waking up at 7:15.
I figured that Family is missing him already I'd walk thru the morning so far.
Brian had eggo waffles and blueberries and milk.

I learned he's not a fan of blueberries and he'd rather pick them out and squish them.

I find it easier to give him a bath in the morning cuz he's usually wearing his breakfast. He doesn't get a bath every day. He likes his baths and is learning that it's fun to throw things out of the tub.

8:00 -9:00 morning Play time

9:00 AM Naptime Meanwhile outside....

Tropical Storm Fay is saying hello. It's neat to listen to the wind and rain. We still have our electricity and are nice and dry and comfy. I'm off to take my morning nap with the boys.

Saturday To Do List: Update Blog

Hurricane Faye is supposed to be showing her wrath this weekend so we are not making any plans to go out in the soggy wetness. I thought that it'd be the perfect opportunity to catch up on posts. A quick good news minute... My boys made it home safely from Cali. I absolutely loved the fact that they were able to go see family. Grandma Mitchell did a great job at keeping me updated on everything that was happening. I mean everything ...even down to what Little Brian ate for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. I had a good weekend and it was more relaxing than productive. I'll post about that later. The highlight of my week was when I greeted my Brians at the gate. It made me think of how lucky I was to have my cute little family. They are such a blessing in my life and bring me so much joy. Even though they've been gone a few short days I was shocked to see how much Little Brian has grown. I've heard that it's hard to notice the small changes when you see them everyday. When they got home I literally had to chase Little Brian down. He's up and running. I need to get the video thingy going. Sounds like a good goal for this weekend.

Our poor little GMC Sonoma

This is an old picture of Brian's truck. It's the only picture we have and it's not a very good one. That would be my Mazda baby behind it. B's GMC doesn't get used often cuz my car gets the better gas mileage. The other night Brian was driving to get to and from work cuz the transmission on my car is on it's way out. The other morning Brian came in and said that the truck died. A huge thank you to the kind stranger that stopped and gave Brian a ride home.
We found out today that it's the engine and it's gonna be around $3000 to get fixed. yikes. while the Mazda's transmission is estimated around $2000. The truck has lived a good life, has wayyy more miles on it than the Mazda, and it's a 98? It's has been really good to us. We've gone and cozied up in the back at the drive in. It's helped us move at least 4 times in the 4 years that we've been married. Brian drove it back and forth from Alabama to California several times. For months Brian has been talking about getting rid of it and getting a motorcycle. I came back with nooo we can't get rid of it cuz then we'll need it. I kept telling myself that I was going to learn how to drive stick. Some day I will but it doesn't look like it'll happen soon. A moment of silence while the truck goes to GMC heaven.
Our next step will be to pick up a car rental in the morning and take the Mazda in to get fixed.
On a good note Brian's flying out to Cali later this month for a few days to handle some family business. I can't go into details but he'll be taking Little Brian with him. I'm staying home cuz the trip is so short and I'd be tempted to stay longer. His Grandparents and Aunties and Uncle will keep LB busy and he'll be in good hands. My only concern how Little B will do on the flight. His Dad says not to worry about it. I'll stay busy working on some organization projects before Baby #2 gets here. LB is an extremely laid back, easy going, good little boy so I have no worries. I'm excited that he get's to see family.
Up and coming post will be LB showing off his walking moves. He takes 5 steps before going down. He's growing so fast.

The Marvelous Murrays

Sunday night we had dinner and games with the Murrays. They are such a neat family with two little girls and a sweet little baby boy. I brought dinner and it went perfectly with Sara's homemade french bread and eclairs. We had chicken with pineapple salsa, Hawaiian cheese dip with all the fixins, and strawberry salad. It was kinda a random dinner on my part only cuz I needed to use up some ingredients before they started to go bad. It was all very good and very filling. After dinner we played Settlers of Catan and Uno. Brian and I played Uno back when we dated so it was fun to have flashbacks of Uno at coffee places with smoothies. I need to remember to keep the big boxes cuz they are cheap entertainment. Trent would push the box in a circle all around the house. I loved the laughs and squeals and giggles. It was a fun night.

Hila's leaving us

She's leaving us for Washington. She'll be closer to family. Lucky Gal.
I put a few goodies together for her which includes an Univ. of Alabama tie knot blanket, a Rachel Ray magazine (we both love easy/yummy recipes) for the airplane trip to Panama, and a can of boiled Peanuts. Brian said if your from Alabama you'll like boiled peanuts. I'm sure that she likes them more than I do.

It was neat to spend the evening with the girls. I was kinda bummed knowing that Hilas last time with us for a while. Although I'm really excited for her and realize that this is what is best for her. I stink at goodbyes and even see ya laters. I just wish that I could keep good people like Hila within arms reach forever. She has truly touched my heart and made my life for the better.

Stacy and Kira worked hard on a Hawaiian theme. I tried out a Hawaiian cheese dip recipe and it was really good. Brian won't like the leftovers since it has pineapple in it. Stacy did a great job on the decor. I'll post more pictures later. The main dish was Hawaiian haystacks. I was introduced to H. Haystacks when I moved to the South. It's a easy tummy filling recipe so I don't know why I don't make it more often. I'm worried about saying goodbye to Hila at church tomorrow just cuz of the fact that I know I'll turn into a ball baby. I don't like crying. Hey- I can blame it on the hormones. She'll be sorely missed. Thank goodness she does a great job at keeping her blog updated. To my Hila. Have a safe trip to Panama with your Dad. Remember we love you. Hugs oxox

Another week has gone by

Woah It's almost been a week since I last posted. Here's my week looking back

- Tuesday: we had a baby Dr's appointment. I always love hearing the heartbeat. Dr said he sounds good and measuring well. A few hours after my Dr's appointment I went and had a filling done at the Dentist. The dentist chairs are nice and have TV screens attached. Getting settled in to the chair I looked up and thought " Huh, that looks like California" There was shopping centers and freeways flashing across the screen and it was tuned to the CNN channel. Sure enough I was right. I saw names like Chino Hills, San Bernardino, Los Angeles. That was when I found out about the earthquake back home. I informed Brian when I got home and he called his family later to check in. It was relief that everyone and everything was okay in the 5.4 Quake. By the time I was able to call home 2 hours had passed by since it happened.

-Wednesday: The weather has been strange. I saw my chance to work on the yard. Sometimes it's easier just to do it myself than getting B to do it. He DID clean out the filters and I only had to ask him once so I didn't wanna push it with the yard work request.

-Thursday: I had a bagel with strawberries and cream cheese. I love bagels and cream cheese. How do you eat your Bagels? The next day I tried a bagel with green apples and cheddar cheese. I got the idea from a picture I saw. It was alright. Maybe I forgot and left something out.

-Friday: It felt like the cold sickness was coming back. Brian stayed up after he came home from work and watched LB so I could rest. I knew that he was trying to get out of going to a wedding reception. His plan worked. Little Brian was my date. The Bakers wedding reception was really nice. It was held at a vineyard and I met my friend Ashley there with her girls. I wish that I had gotten there earlier to be able to see outside. I didn't have any pockets to carry my camera. The food was wonderful. The main dishes were from Brazil. The Bride and Groom were married a month previous in Southern Utah. They had beautiful wedding pictures on display and the wedding favors were bottled drinks with clever labels. Thankfully a few friends held Little Brian to give my aching arms some relief. LB did really well through out the night but for some reason he wouldn't let our friend Hunter hold him. Thanks anyway Hunter.
-Saturday: will be my next post.
