I love this time of year when the strawberries are ready to be picked. This year we went with our neighbor Flori and her son from up the street. He just turned 4 and Little Brian loves having a buddy that shares his passion of cars and trains. Flori is so sweet. Lucas loves her and she loves carrying him around. We went walking at the park and she carried him the whole way. Flori is working on her English and does really well considering that she's only been in the states for 2 years. I was amazed at the amount of strawberries that she could fit into our buckets. We for sure got our moneys worth thanks to her. It was pretty muddy out but we had a good time. Lucas enjoyed playing in the mud the most. Later that night I froze the strawberries and tonight served them up with angel food cake and cool whip as a refreshment for our RS activity. We had a lesson on gardening so I hope to grow my own strawberries someday.

We had a full flat left from the shower. Got them from the field near the condo here in CA. I cut some up and we have strawberry shortcake one night, dried 4 trays yesterday and put 2 quarts bags up in freezer from L & J. Still have 6baskets left. Yummy!
