Grandma's been busy and gratitude for delicious gourmet dinners.

Grandma's been really working hard while she's been here. She's taken care of Brian all day, every day, washed dishes, laundry, organized the nursery, saved our Dino's life with her sewing skills, and pretty much jumped at every opportunity to help out.
We are forever grateful to her and love having her here.
Over the past few days we've been recipients of delightfully delicious meals brought by dear friends. Both the friends and the meals have been greatly appreciated. Every night a different feast ranging from homemade veggie soup and bread, pot roast with potatoes and vegetables, to yummy chicken casserole with corn on the cob and salad. Our fridge and tummys have both been filled. A special thanks to Sara, Brenda, Jen, Sharon, and Stacy for making our taste buds sing. Pictures shown are Sara's homemade cream of veggie soup and Brenda's banana bundt cake with carmel icing. (I had to take a picture fast cuz it was disappearing very quickly)
Thanks for your patience in my posting. It's either sleep or blog. I also wanted to Thank You for all the kind and thoughtful comments. I enjoy catching up when I can and try to share the comments with Brian and the rest of our little family.
Lucas is a very sleepy eater so I'm trying to keep him awake long enough to eat. More pictures to come.

Proud Papa

Happy Momma

Thrilled Grandma

Happy Healthy Baby Boy

It all went so very very quick. It was a normal Saturday night. It was 2:30 am and I got up to use the bathroom. Brian was up playing his computer game to help him stay on his sleep schedule.

Suddenly the contractions started. I came out to tell Brian. The contractions were coming so fast and intense that I didn't bother timing them. Between contractions I asked Brian to go sweep the bathroom. I couldn't stand the thought of coming home to a dirty bathroom. Then I went to go wake up Grandma A and she said to walk around. Less than 5 minutes later. Brian came in and told Grandma that we were leaving for the hospital. Grandma grabbed Little Brian and Brian helped me to the car. Brian called the Murrays to come pick up Lil B from the Hospital. All I could think to do was sing the Primary song "I Love to See the Temple" to not think of the pain. I sang it over and over and Grandma even sang a verse with me. We only hit one red light and I begged Brian to "just Go!!" He did.

We checked into the ER while Grandma parked the car and brought in Lil B at 3:55. By now I was humming the song and the admitting clerk got a little concerned so she took us right up to the maternity assessment room. I couldn't believe how slow things were going cuz I was hurting so bad. I was getting aggravated. Everything was bothering me especially the bright lights. I asked the nurse " Could we turn down the lights?" The nurse was like uh No. She checked me and I was dilated to a 9. She left to go call the Dr. A second later a loud Pop and goosh. Brian yelled " Uh I think her water broke" The nurse didn't have anything ready. No scissors no clamps, no nothing. At one moment I was told to stop pushing cuz the chord was wrapped around the baby's neck, luckily loose enough to be flipped over his head by the nurse. The Dr missed all the excitement because at 4:12 a healthy baby boy was born. A few moments later we joined Grandma upstairs in the same labor and delivery room where Lil B was born. Room 405. We are thrilled that he's here.

We love Fall!! Warning lots of pictures..

We love the Fall. With Fall comes opportunities to get out and enjoy the nice weather. Our good friend Ashley who home schools invited us on one of their fieldtrips. We went to a Farm that grew pumpkins, watermellons, peas, etc. The morning was perfect and it was hard to pick only a few pictures cuz there was so much to do. It started right at Little Brian's morning nap time and he wasn't thrilled about having to hold Grandma's hand. Other than that he loved it all and so did we. We started with a tractor pulled hay ride. It took us out to a large pumpkin patch. Next to the pumpkin patch was fields of sunflowers where they let us pick some. We all piled back on the hay ride with our pumpkins and headed back to see the animals. There was cows, ducks, donkeys, bunnies, hens, pigs, everything. Brian would talk to the animals. It was so fun. It was very educational as well. They showed how to grind corn, milk cows, eggs from Hens, and grew apples.
Pictured is Brian looking for "Taters" in the tater patch. He found one on his own and was so excited. Normandy Lil B's friend shared her egg from the Hen house. It's cool to watch them interact with each other. The top picture is Ashley and her girls and I on the hay ride. There were so many things to look at. We almost missed the witch that crashed into the telephone pole. The sign above the guys legs sticking outta the hay bale says "Think Safety"
We had lunch under the trees and they also offered a corn maze that was on 5 acres of land. It would of taken 20 minutes but I thought that we were getting pretty tired so we'll save that till next year. Brian picked out his own pumpkin and we haven't decided if how we are going to carve it. I'll let Dad help him with that one. I had to get a picture of the Tractor for Grandpa Mitchell. The itty bitty pumpkins were so small and cute but Brian decided to go for the big ones like his Dad growing up.
Grandma A was hoping that the bumpiness from the hayride would have helped speed this pregnancy along but that didn't happen. I felt great. The fresh air was wonderful. Grandma had a good time. Lil B was tuckered out in the car before we pulled outta the parking lot. Thanks Ashley for an awesome morning.
We'll see what the next 24 hours bring. I'll keep you posted.

Grandma's Here

Grandma made it here safely late Wednesday night. I could feel my body getting ready for this Baby to come. There were contractions about 5 minutes apart but it lasted only about a half hour. They weren't extremely bad so I knew that it wasn't anything serious.

Thursday morning she watched Little Brian while Brian and I went to my Dr's appointment. They played and danced and slept. Later the 3 of us went to Target to look for shelves for toys and bins for clothes. We finished the day off with Chinese take out.

It's wonderful having her here. We are keeping her very busy. She's washed dishes and changed diapers. We are extremely grateful for her help.

Baby Dr Update....
Dialated 3-4 cm 50% thinned out. Dr says asked if I wanted to be induced or to wait it out. I was like uhhh I'll wait it out. This was the first time meeting him because my other Dr moved out of state. Dr Farmer says that he's thinking that this baby will be here in the next 2 -3 days.

October 1st

Today is a much better day than the day before. Maybe it had something to do with getting out of the house. Yesterday's highlight was when I received a package in the mail from my friend Melissa in Texas. It was really sweet of her to think of us. She sent some winter baby clothes. It was a complete shock. Fun mail is always.. well fun. This morning I pulled out the carry on that I'll be taking to hospital. After the Primary Presidency meeting I went to Walmart to get some slippers with good grip soles. So no sliding for this Mommy. Some how I'm thinking that this Baby will come soon. I thought that I could feel him drop this morning but not sure. I'll find out tomorrow if I was correct at tomorrows Dr's appointment. I'm feeling tightness/pressure but that could be anything. Everything is good and well over here at the Mitchell home.
